Teaching International Communication

My last day with the first batch of International Communication at Gita Mittal Career Development Centre.

I enjoyed teaching some exceptionally bright students in the International Communication course at GMCDC. When we introduced this course, we were still wondering how much would it be of interest to the professionals or young graduates. To our sheer delight, not only did we get a good response but the students' thirst for knowledge and practive approach in learning encouraged me to ensure that my classes were interactive and knowledge-laden. The course was co-facilitated by two of my other colleagues at GMCDC and it was fun altogether.

The real success of this course will not be known until another year passes by and I can see the students' real performance in the international or cross-cultural arena.

I look forward to another batch of students for International or Corporate Communication. Jaipur needs it badly.

  1. Hey Roma,
i've never heard anyone ever teach this kinda subject. I mean, may be multicultural studies in Toronto but the kind of topics you discussed the other day, I haven't heard anyone talk about it.Am dying for another chat or may be, you can inform me when you are lecturing again. Am in India for another couple of weeks.

I remember an incident when my Japanese roomie got pissed-off with me coz of my attitude about demanding the rent upfront. I mean, that's how we've been brought up, eh? She preferred that I hint indirectly at the money part. She thought I was doubting her insincerity. And then, language was such a problem too. Well, you know how we guys are so scared of free loaders.
But, we become so judgemental especially when there are communication barriers.

I've picked some valuable tips from the talk. Keep this going.
