Communication for Accounting Professionals

This past Saturday, I presented a talk on Corporate Communications for Accounting Professionals at the ICAI- Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, in Jaipur.
I delved into Roger Parry's theory of left brain vs. right brain dominance that affects our thinking pattern. People inclined toward using their left brains are known to be logical, analytical and sequential whereas the ones inclined toward using their right brains more often turn out to be random, intuitive and sythesizing in their thoughts as well as actions.
I discussed  about the so-called "whole-brainers". It implies utilizing both side of your brains and developing a balacned set of faculties and thought-process.

This can be difficult to deal with in the corporate world and can lead to myriad issues and misunderstandings. I also briefly touched upon the need for accountants to continuously chisel their communication skills in finance to succeed.
It was a great opportunity to interact with thsee professionals and I look forward to more such occasions.
Thanks ICAI, Jaipur!
